Tour of brand-new horticulture project in Bonvilston and will last approx 2 hours.

During the Vale Food Trail visit to BonvilstonEdge, you will hear about the challenges and successes of our switch from working in Business & IT to starting a sustainable horticulture venture in the Vale of Glamorgan.  Also, our drivers around not using pesticides, and limiting the use of plastics and our ethos of growing and supplying locally to reduce the carbon footprint of fresh fruit and veg from field to table.

You will have a tour of the BonvilstonEdge field, starting with Eucalyptus trees, various fruit trees, lavender, both apple/pear and cherry orchards and not forgetting our vineyard.  You will also see our bee hives and hear how we are working with nature to pollinate our produce and their importance in producing fruit and vegetables.

We will continue the tour to our potted Christmas trees which we will be renting over Christmas to ensure sustainability of the trees.  Finally, we will talk about our use of Wondermesh to protect the plants from insects and animals instead of pesticides, and how we are working with the environment and nature to grow our produce.

Experience planting vegetable seeds in recycled pots and taste their BonvilstonEdge honey, accompanied by homemade cake and tea/coffee.
